Support the WSHS Band
Three easy ways to Donate to the WSHS band:
fundraising activities
Each band student has the opportunity to participate in fundraising to raise funds for the general band as well as credits to be added to their student account. Student accounts are created for each band student. Students can use the credits they have raised to pay for marching band fees, such as the concert band activity fee, Solo & Ensemble fee, All-District Audition fee, FCPS Instrument rental, uniform fees, spring trip and other events or fees. Below is a list of fundraising opportunities open to all band students:
tag day
The WSHS Band Program’s biggest general fundraiser is our Tag Day, usually held in September. This fundraiser involves going door-to-door asking for donations from houses/apartments within the High School’s boundary area. Our key to success is maximum participation! ALL band students are highly encouraged to participate. Please help ensure your son/daughter makes it to this important event.
spirit wear
Show your support by wearing school colors with the band logo! When you go to football games and band competitions you'll be easily able to find the Spartan Band supporters. Available for purchase are items such as beanies/caps, blanekts, shirts, and band jackets.
SCrip program
Scrip is the only year-round WSHS Band fundraiser. Earn money while you shop! You buy gift cards that are used just like cash. Use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and gas. Earn money with every purchase.

people power
People Power is a great opportunity for students to earn credit for their student accounts by signing up to rake leaves for area residents. Students receive credits for their student accounts at an hourly rate. Groups of students (3-5) will be driven by a parent chaperone to an area residence and are paid an hourly rate. Parents are not expected to rake leaves, though you are certainly welcome to help the students.
concession stand
The Concession Stand is our second largest general fundraiser of the year. We operate the Stand for a minimum of 17 sporting events (including all home football games and field hockey games). The concession stand runs on volunteers. It's a great place to stay warm during cold fall game nights.
