In-School band classes
Reminders:
- Make sure you have a musician’s mask.
- Drop off your instrument at the beginning of the day. You will be assigned a storage locker in the band room.
- You will need your laptop for class. Make sure it is charged.
- Make sure you wear layers. The windows will be opened in the room to maximize ventilation.
Band announcements
Placement Auditions: For those of you continuing band for next year, placement auditions will be done through Google Classroom. The class invite link is here: https://classroom.google.com/c/Mjk3MjA1NTkwMjY5?cjc=uzhytzjThe audition will comprise of major scales, chromatic scale, a prepared excerpt and sight-reading. Audition recordings are due Friday, April 23.
This year’s Solo & Ensemble Festival will be a virtual event with performance entries being accepted up to May 2. The registration deadline is Friday, April 16. The fee is $7 per event and is payable by check to WSHS. Access the registration form here: https://forms.gle/E88owru6CNBX2mnv6
After-School Band Activities Survey: with the conclusion of the marching band season and a bit of time between now and the end of the school year I would like to gauge student interest in after-school band activities. Marching Band Summer Rehearsals aka “Band Camp” will take place starting on Monday, August 2 through Friday, August 20. A more detailed schedule will be published in late May.
