Color Guard & winter guard
Color guard
The West Springfield High School Color Guard, under the direction of Jessie Harrell and Mrs. Park, is an integral part of the Marching Spartans Band, providing visual aspects to enhance the overall performance. The Guard is a group that brings an expressive element to visually interpret the music through the use of dance, drama and performances manipulating equipment such as flags, rifles and sabres.
Color Guard is open to all WSHS students, grades 9-12. Although many members do play instruments in the band, enrollment in a band class is not required for students to participate in the Guard.
