Our Award Winning Marching Spartans!

The Marching Spartans is open to all band students at West Springfield High School. The Marching Band includes approximately 120+ performing members in brass, woodwind, percussion, and visual ensemble. The Marching Spartans are associated with the U.S. Scholastic Band Association and the Virginia Band and Orchestra Band Director's Association.

Marching band uniforms

The marching band uniform consists of a jacket, a pair of bib pants,  a shako (hat), white gloves, a marching band t-shirt, black shoes, athletic shorts worn under bib pants, black calf-length socks, and band student sweatshirt. The marching band uniform is issued prior to each game and competition. Band students will be fitted to a uniform during the first week of pre-season band rehearsals.

Get involved in marching band student leadership and band crews. They help with the logistical and administrative tasks necessary to run the marching band program.
